In her own words

Hello, I’m Mandi Simons and I’m a qualified and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychotherapy specialist. You might want expert help with a diagnosed issue such as Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, or another type of psychological condition. Or you may want advice to build better confidence, support for your career, your relationships including family and personal life, your children and more. I’m now here as a telephone advisor at Greatvine offering you a safe and supportive space.

CBT aims to initially change the way you think about yourself and in turn, your environment. We’ll emphasise the importance of the present and the future, as opposed to the past. The flexible, creative approach supports you to find your own resources, independence and wisdom plus discover your own personal methods for self-help.

You may also want to ask me about Mindfulness. It stems from an ancient Buddhist practice using meditation to increase our awareness of ourselves in the present. You could discover how to live and enjoy the present rather than worrying about your past or being concerned about your future. You may manage your everyday life and emotional problems better by developing awareness, allowing you to feel more clearly what is happening in and around you in each moment. You can then respond to difficulties using a more conscious approach - rather than a more conditioned and negative automatic response. This can feel very liberating, helping you create the changes you want more freely. You can incorporate the meditation techniques into your daily routine and learn simple expert mindfulness techniques aiming to overcome many issues including stress, anger, anxiety and depression.

The psychodynamic approach looks at the lively and constantly active connections between different aspects of your personality. We can explore how your past may be influencing your present life, and how, in turn, patterns of behaviour from the past may be manifesting throughout all your current relationships. This approach also acknowledges the existence of the unconscious and how you can be powerfully motivated by your unconscious wishes.
