Introduction

My training and experience covers all areas of child and family related difficulties, from relatively mild issues to more entrenched and serious mental health difficulties. Parenting: - Help with difficult phases in childhood such as coping with tantruming toddlers, starting school, toilet training, unruly adolescents, etc - Support and advice on dealing with boundaries and discipline within the family - Attachment and bonding issues with young babies Difficulties with a Specific Child - Childhood depression, self-harm or anorexia - Childhood anxiety or separation anxiety - School related difficulties such as school refusal, poor peer relationship or bullying - Worries about a more serious emotional difficulty or mental health problem - Coping with the effects of long term illness - Simply and unhappy child who you would like to understand and support Whole Family Issues: - Parental separation or divorce - Bereavement, trauma and long-term illness -- I am an experienced, qualified and accredited Child and Family Psychotherapist who has worked with children for over 15 years both privately and within the NHS. I work with a wide range of issues, from relatively minor difficulties requiring advice and support, to more entrenched family problems and including therapeutic intervention and support for serious mental health difficulties. I trained as an analytic child, adolescent and family psychotherapist at the Tavistock Clinic in London, but have developed my own way of working with and understanding children and families, focusing in particular on bonding, attachment and containment issues within families. I work from consulting rooms in Islington and Waterloo, lecture in various child and family related subjects and run parenting support groups in North London. I hold two masters level qualifications in psychoanalytic studies and psychoanalytic psychotherapy with children adolescents and families. I am a full member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
